Our first visit to Kawila Primary School was in September 2017. It is a remote school in the west of Siavonga District serving fifteen villages. We chose to install solar panels in the school because it had no mains power. We wanted to add it to the cluster of schools within about 70km radius that already have solar power. Staff from Dambilo and Sianyoolo Schools will be able to share ideas and pool resources. The head teacher from Dambilo came over to help with the installation.
Teachers, staff and members of the local community were eagerly waiting to help with checking the solar panels, connecting the battery and even mounting the panels on the roof!
Sian and Adele enjoyed teaching small groups of pupils.
Malcolm made this video of our visit.

It was great to receive the first photos from Headteacher Oggie showing pupils learning about computers with their teachers.
